Your information

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Athay Design may collect, why I use it and how I look after it.

Last updated: October 2026

The short version

Your information is there to help me work with you.

I only want the information reasonably needed to answer enquiries, provide services, run Athay Design and meet legal or financial obligations.

01

I don't sell your data

Your personal information isn't sold to advertisers, data brokers or other businesses.

02

I collect what's useful

If you contact me, I'll need enough information to respond and understand what you're asking me to help with.

03

Some services need suppliers

Trusted providers may process information where they're needed to provide hosting, email, payments or other business services.

04

You have rights

UK data protection law gives you rights over how your personal information is used and held.

01

Who is responsible for your information?

Athay Design is responsible for the personal information described in this policy when I decide how and why that information is used.

For privacy questions, you can contact:

02

Information I may collect

The information I hold will depend on how you interact with Athay Design.

This may include your name, business name, email address, telephone number and other contact details.

If you enquire about or purchase a service, I may also hold information about your business, your requirements, our conversations, proposals, project information, feedback and the services being provided.

I may also need billing, transaction and accounting information relating to services you've purchased.

Please don't send sensitive personal information unless it is genuinely necessary for the service we're discussing.

03

How I use your information

I may use personal information to:

  • respond to enquiries;
  • understand what your business needs;
  • prepare proposals or discuss potential work;
  • provide and manage services you've purchased;
  • communicate with you about ongoing work or support;
  • administer website plans and subscriptions;
  • process or keep records of payments;
  • maintain business and accounting records;
  • protect the security and operation of my services; and
  • comply with legal, tax or regulatory obligations.
05

When information may be shared

I don't sell or rent your personal information.

I may use trusted third-party suppliers where they're reasonably necessary to operate Athay Design or provide your service.

These might include providers of website hosting, domains, email, cloud storage, payment processing, accounting, communications or other technical services.

I only share information that is reasonably necessary for the relevant service.

Information may also be disclosed where required by law, to establish or defend legal rights, or where reasonably necessary to prevent fraud, abuse or security problems.

06

Payments and subscriptions

If you purchase a website plan or another paid service, payments may be processed using a specialist payment provider.

Where a payment provider is used, your payment card or bank information will normally be provided directly to that provider rather than stored by Athay Design.

I may receive and retain information about the transaction, such as your name, billing information, payment status, amount paid and transaction reference, where needed to administer your account and maintain financial records.

07

Website usage and analytics

The Athay Design website may collect limited technical information required for the website to operate, including information such as IP address, browser type, device information and server logs.

If I introduce website analytics or other measurement tools, this policy and any relevant cookie information will be updated to explain what is being used and why.

Where consent is legally required before non-essential tracking technologies are used, those technologies will not be activated until the appropriate choice has been made.

08

Cookies

Cookies are small pieces of information that websites can store on your device.

Some cookies may be strictly necessary for a website or service to function correctly.

Athay Design will not intentionally use non-essential analytics, advertising or tracking cookies without providing any consent mechanism required by applicable law.

If the cookies used by this website change, the privacy information provided here will be updated accordingly.

09

Information processed outside the UK

Some technology providers may process or store information outside the United Kingdom.

Where this happens, I will take reasonable steps to use providers and arrangements that offer appropriate safeguards for personal information as required by UK data protection law.

10

How long I keep information

I don't intend to keep personal information for longer than reasonably necessary.

How long information is retained depends on why it was collected, whether you're an active customer and whether I need to retain records for legal, tax, accounting, contractual or dispute-resolution purposes.

Enquiries that don't become customer relationships may generally be removed when they're no longer reasonably useful, while financial and contractual records may need to be retained for longer.

11

Looking after your information

I take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, loss or disclosure.

No internet, email or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but I aim to use appropriate services and sensible security practices for the type of information I hold.

12

Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights to:

  • ask for a copy of personal information held about you;
  • ask for inaccurate information to be corrected;
  • ask for information to be deleted in certain circumstances;
  • ask for processing to be restricted;
  • object to certain uses of your information;
  • receive certain information in a portable format; and
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

These rights aren't absolute in every situation. If you make a request, I'll explain if a particular legal exception applies.

To make a request, email hello@athaydesign.co.uk .

13

Questions or complaints

If you're concerned about how your personal information has been handled, please contact me first and I'll try to resolve the issue.

You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you're unhappy with how your personal information has been used.

14

Changes to this privacy policy

I may update this policy when the services Athay Design uses change, when new features are introduced or when legal requirements change.

The latest version will be published on this page and the date at the top will show when it was last updated.
